Last Day of School 5/30/13 – Minimum Day Dismissal 1:00 pm

Graduation – May 30, 2013 – Rabobank Center – 10:30 am

Students

  • Students are NOT to bring backpacks to school the last week of school – a yearbook and a pen are all that you will need.

  • Students are not to have water balloons or throw water/liquid/etc. on each other to, from, or while you are at school. 
  • Any behavior resulting in a suspension will result in missing end-of-year activities up to and including the graduation ceremony.  Please be on your best behavior as we finish the year strong. 

  1. Reminder to All Students:  If you did not clear cafeteria debt, overdue or lost library books, lost textbooks on Friday May 24, 2013.  Any debt not paid or book not turned in, may result in report cards being held.  Once you have cleared any debt, turned in library or textbook, you will need a clearance slip and you may pick up your report card and/or diploma on Monday 6/3/13 through Wednesday 6/5/13 for the office until 3:30 pm.

Students

  • Students are not to have water balloons or throw water/liquid/etc. on each other to, from, or while you are at school. 
  • Any behavior resulting in a suspension will result in missing end-of-year activities up to and including the graduation ceremony.  Please be on your best behavior as we finish the year strong.  

  1. Attention 8th grade students:  We will begin selling gowns today 5/20/13 through Wednesday , before school, and at lunch.  $20 CASH ONLY.  Line up outside of room 501 Parent Teacher Conference Room.

  1. Students Council Speeches and Elections – 7th grade classes will go to the library during 2nd period to listen to speeches, and then return to their classroom to vote.

  1. All Students:  Please check the Lost and Found in the cafeteria during your lunch time, for any items that you may have lost throughout the year.  Any items not claimed will be donated to Goodwill.

  1. Reminder to All Students:  All cafeteria debt, overdue or lost library books, lost textbooks must be paid in full or turned in no later than Friday May 24, 2013.  Any debt not paid or book not turned in, may result in report cards being held.  For 8th grade students your report card and diploma may be held.

5.     ATTENTION 8th GRADE STUDENTS:  VERY IMPORTANT!  PLEASE MAKE SURE TO GIVE YOUR PARENTS THE 8TH GRADE GRADUATION LETTER.  THIS IS THE SECOND REMINDER.

From the Vice Principal:

As the weather warms up, please remember that the dress code is still in effect and will be enforced.  You will be asked to call home for a change of clothes and assigned detention if you violate the dress code.  Shorts must be LONGER than your fingertips when your hands are down by your side and there cannot be any rips in your pants or shorts that are above your fingertips when your hands are down by your side.  Also, spaghetti straps and off the shoulder tops are not allowed at school.

  1. Attention 7th graders: Looking to step up and show our incoming class what Constitution Day is all about at the start of next year? Sign up during the walk-a-thon at the table titled "Constitution Day" with Mrs. Ault or come by 230 before or after school. We will need an M.C., vocals, music, actors/actresses, stage hands, as well as many other roles to make the 2013-2014 Constitution Day happen.

  1. All library books are due back on Friday May 17th.  Library will be closed starting Monday the 20th for inventory. 

  1. Any 8th grade student interested in giving a speech at graduation, there will be a short meeting Monday, May 13th, at 2:05 in room 310.  Speeches will be due to McGinnis 310 or Kimmel 110 by 2:15 Wednesday, May 15th.  Speaker try outs will be Thursday, May 16th

  1. Attn: 8th graders: Try-outs for the Host/Hostess of the talent show will be on Tuesday, May 14th at 2:00pm in Mrs. Halbrook's room.

  1. Chipman’s Annual  Relay For Life Fundraiser Walk-a-Thon – Help in the fight against cancer, and enjoy an afternoon outdoors with your friends, listening to music, and walking to raise money.  This Friday, May 10.  Tickets to the event will be sold during lunch, outside Mr. Hood’s back door Wednesday – Friday, for $3 which also includes a La Rosa Bar with purchase of ticket.

  1. Attention 7th grade students: There will be a meeting for any students/parents interested in going to New York and Washington DC in 2014 on Wednesday, May 15th at Rusty's pizza at 5:30pm.  Please make sure they attend if you are even just thinking about it.

  1. Attn 8th grade students:  There are a few spots that opened up on this year's Washington DC/New York trip leaving the day after graduation.  If you are interested, please see Mrs. Halbrook ASAP to find out more information.
  2. ATTENTION 8th GRADE STUDENTS: VERY IMPORTANT!  PLEASE MAKE SURE TO GIVE YOUR PARENTS THE 8TH GRADE GRADUATION LETTER.  THIS IS THE SECOND COPY, MAKE SURE YOU GET ONE FROM YOUR 6TH PERIOD TODAY.
