This week at Chipman: March 3, 2008

  • 7th graders eat first this week.
  • Girls and boys softball tryouts continue Monday through Thursday afterschool at 2:00 bring your own glove if you have one.  You must have at least a 2.0 GPA from the semester report card to be eligible to play.
  • 8th grade T-Shirt are being pre-sold for $10 through Wednesday, March 26, 2008.  You may pick up your order form from your Advisory teacher or Mrs. Dinsmore.  (Extra t-shirts will not be ordered so order yours now!)
  • Come celebrate Dr. Seuss' birthday at the library! Come to the library to get your name on the invitation list. We have spots for 60 interested students. The celebration will be Tuesday, March 4 at lunch. Invited guests will be allowed to go to the lunch line with their invitations first and bring trays or sack lunches to the library. The library will furnish dessert. If you like stories, movies, games, and fun, get your name on the guest list. The first 60 students to sign up will be the only ones that can attend!
  • Oral Language meets every Tuesday and Thursday in room 660 at 11:45 am
  • Migrant tutoring Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday in Room 440 from 2:00- 3:00.
  • After School Tutoring Tuesday and Thursday – Rooms 620, 630, 640, 650, 670, and 680.
  • Lunchtime math tutoring in room #620 on Wednesdays.  All grades welcome.
  • March 3–14, 2008 – Physical Fitness Testing
  • March 4, 2008 – California Standards Writing Test 7th Grade
  • March 5, 2008 – Make Up California Standards Writing Test 7th Grade
  • March 5, 2008 – Constitution Re-Test – Cafeteria (2:00)
  • March 6, 2008 – Math Bowl – Cafeteria & Rm 620, 600 Building (Lunch hour for students changed to 5th period).
  • March 6, 2008 – Concert Band and Orchestra Concert – Cafeteria (6:00)
  • March 8, 2008 - MS/DS Honor Band/Orchestra Auditions & Rehearsals (Café/Band Rooms)
  • March 9, 2008 – Daylight Savings (Spring Forward)
  • Cell phones, IPods’, any electronic devices, etc; are not allowed at school.  If these items are taken from you they will be returned to your parents the first time, any further incidents will result in them being kept until the end of the school year.
  • March 10, 2008 – Honor Concert Final Rehearsal – Rabobank (9:00 am). Honor Concert  – Rabobank (7:00 pm)
  • March 13, 2008 – History Night Showcase – Cafeteria (6:00)
  • March 14, 2008 – Regional Track Meet
  • March 17 – 24, 2008 – Spring Break – No School
