- 8th Graders eat first this week.
- Its that time of year again when we plan for our annual STAR Picnic! As in the past we will host a lunchtime picnic in order to celebrate the preparation, effort and participation students and teachers made on the STAR test. All students who have perfect attendance during the star-testing window (beginning April 21 through May 2nd) will receive a ticket to the picnic event (all other students will eat lunch in the cafeteria). Go Chargers!
- Tuesday April 21, 2008 is the beginning of STAR testing through May 2, 2008. It is very important to be PRESENT, RESTED, AND ON TIME for testing. All students should be ready and in class by 7:37 a.m. All doctor or dental appointments should be scheduled after STAR testing. Keep in mind that during STAR testing there are No Interruptions, No Exceptions! The office staff will not call (page) anyone and no one will be allowed to go into the classroom to retrieve a student.
- Regretfully NYSP will not be funded this summer. Thank you to all of the students who showed interest in the program and took the time to fill out the packet. Thanks again and sorry about the disappointment. Mrs. Dinsmore
- Track practice Monday through Thursday 2 pm.
- Bakersfield High School Freshmen (9th grade next school year) parent/student orientation will be held Monday April 21st at 7:00 pm in the Harvey Auditorium. Pre-registration will be Tuesday April 29th from 3:30 6:00 pm in Bakersfield High School Cafeteria (southwest corner of 14th & F Street). You will need the most recent PG&E bill as proof of address.

- Do you plan on going to college? Do you think it is too soon to start thinking about college? The reality is that it is never too soon. If you are interested in attending "College: Making It Happen" on April 19th at Bakersfield College, see Mrs. Dinsmore.
- From the Vice Principal: Please remember that the length of your shorts/skirts must be arms length at your sides. When wearing tights under your clothes the item on the top, the shorts/skirt must follow the arms length rule. You may not wear shorts/skirts on the top of tights that are too short to be worn to school. Tank tops need to have at minimum 2 inches on the straps and provide proper coverage of undergarments.

2. You have a 4.0 card.
3. You have at least a 3.0.
- Migrant tutoring Tuesday and Thursday in Room 440 from 2:00- 3:00.
- After School Tutoring Tuesday and Thursday Rooms 620, 630, 640, 650, 670, and 680.
- The Student Store is a privilege to have. If everyone would like the Student Store to continue to sell items, everyone must keep Chipmans campus CLEAN! Please through away trash in the trash cans. If the campus continues to be littered with trash, the Student Store will close permanently.

- There are a limited amount of 2007-2008 yearbooks left. They will be for sale for $40.00 Cash only in rm. 466. First come first serve!
