Straight Schedule Week

7th Grade Students Eat First This Week

From the Principal:

Please allow me to thank you for the effort that you recently made in taking STAR tests and also for the great effort made in having such fantastic attendance during the testing window.  As you know, if you had perfect attendance during the testing window you will receive a ticket to the BBQ on Friday.  At the beginning of lunch recess you will see lines indicating where to line up (7th grade line and 8th grade line out on the track area), your cooperation and patience will be appreciated as you line up, eat, and “hang out!”  Also appreciated will be your help in keeping Chipman neat and clean.  Please dispose of your trash when you are finished eating.  Again, great job this year - we are proud of you!

Please remember that the length of your shorts/skirts must be arms length at your sides.  When wearing tights under your clothes the item on the top, the shorts/skirt must follow the arms length rule.  You may not wear shorts/skirts on the top of tights that are too short to be worn to school.  Tank tops need to have at minimum 2 inches on the straps and provide proper coverage of undergarments.  When wearing sandals make sure they have a back strap, no flip flops.

2.         Library is closed today because of our visiting author, Jeff Stone. Students will attend assemblies with Language Arts Class either 1st period, 3rd period, or 6th period. Detention room will be held in the library for those students not attending the assembly. Coverage for the detention room will be Romo 1st period, Howell  3rd period, and Green  6th period. Thanks in advance for your good Chipman welcome to Mr. Stone and your good behavior during the assembly. We have 4 TIGER paperback books left to sell. Books are $6.00 each. See Mrs. Heisey in the library.

3.          Attention Students and Teachers:

Panda Express is getting involved with Chipman fundraisers and would like to donate 20% of all money made between 4:00 and 8:00 p.m. on Thursday May 7th.  Please present the flyer handed out during advisory at time of purchase and you will be donating money to Chipman.  Extra flyers are available in the office.  Go Chargers!

4.         Attention 7th graders:  It is time to sign up or try out for one of Chipman's award winning choirs.  Concert choir sign ups will be the last five minutes of lunch Tuesday and Wednesday of this week.  Show Choir and Treble choir try outs are Tuesday and Wednesday after school.  The try out is to sing "Happy Birthday" or "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star."  The try out is first come first served, and it only takes 1 to 2 minutes.  Don't miss out on next year's trip to Magic Mountain.

5.         There are exactly 14 yearbooks left and there are about 650 students who still have not purchased a yearbook. As soon as these 24 yearbooks are gone there will be no more, so if you really want a yearbook this year you should hurry and buy one before they are gone.  $40.00 CASH ONLY sold in room 230.

6.         Attention Stand Strong Students: Ms. Dinsmore has a new schedule for your Saturday 5-9-09 event.  Please pick one up ASAP.

7.         Attention 8th grade students: graduation gowns will be sold outside of Mrs. Dinsmore's office on Wednesday the 6th and Thursday the 7th of May.  The gowns will be $18 cash only.  Don't wait until the last minute to buy your gown.  If you are unsure if you are graduating and decide to buy a gown, do not open the gown as refunds cannot be made once the gown is opened.

8.         Attention 8th grade students: All blue progress reports are to be turned into Ms. Dinsmore.  This is the only way to monitor if you are eligible to graduate.

9.         Softball practice Monday, Wednesday and Thursday 2-3 pm.
